My 2020 wedding season kicked off in the month of August (!!) with Jessica and Nick’s classy affair at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia. These two had waited two years for their big day. It was so worth it!
Jessica and Nick’s Story
Jessica and Nick met on the dating app Bumble. After meeting for the first time… they knew they were meant for each other! One day, they decided to go hiking at Great Falls to enjoy the nice weather, and while they were sitting on an overlook viewing the river, he took out the ring and asked Jessica to marry him. She said yes, and the rest is history!
These two had been engaged for over two years by the time they said ‘I do’. They were one of my couples that had the unfortunate experience of having to schedule–and reschedule–their wedding around the covid pandemic and restrictions that ensued. I have such a huge place in my heart for these couples going through all this stress. It’s been hard on us vendors too! But thankfully we got to celebrate Jessica and Nick in 2020.
A classic wedding with blush accents
Jessica says that having this extended time to plan really helped her get a clear vision and plan the wedding of her dreams. Her attention to detail was perfect! She chose me as her photographer because she loved soft and romantic, but classic photography. I am so glad she trusted me to capture their day! Her taste was evident in how she designed her wedding as well, from attire to stationary to florals. Jessica and Nick’s wedding was the perfect blend of classic and romantic.
When I arrived, it was pouring down rain and I was pretty nervous about what the weather would do the rest of the day. As you can see, it turned out to be a gorgeous day! The sun came out just before their first look, and the diffused light through the clouds coated everything in a romantic glow.
On their wedding morning, Nick gifted Jessica a sweet necklace made from her original engagement ring. Jessica wore a gorgeous, form-fitted ivory dress with lace details throughout and intricate beading at the bodice. Her adorable Bella bella shoes echoes the same style lace details. Her long train and silk-covered buttons next to Nick in his dress blues added such a regal touch to their first look images! The bridesmaids wore blush, which was the perfect, soft complement to the groomsmen’s navy suits. After getting ready, Nick had a sword ceremony with his groomsmen before heading out to have portraits taken. We drove to the nearby National Arboretum for more variety outside of the golf course.
I loved all of Jessica and Nick’s decor choices and amazing vendor team, the floral arrangements for their wedding were absolutely stunning. Chic Girl Flowers did a fantastic job creating their ceremony arch, bouquets, centerpieces, and a sweetheart table that was overflowing with beautiful greenery. Each arrangement was the perfect balance of textures, volume, and delicate blend of cream, blush, and white.
The perfect end to the perfect day
After the guests had danced the night away celebrating Jessica and Nick, we ended the night with a sparkler exit outside the golf club.
